Greg Steward
Greg Steward is the Founder and Club Director of Next Level Volleyball, where he oversees every aspect of the club's vision, coaching philosophy, and athlete development. Since beginning his coaching career in 2011, Greg has dedicated himself to building programs that emphasize technical excellence, competitive toughness, and personal growth.
His coaching philosophy is built on a simple belief: success comes from mastering the fundamentals, embracing accountability, and creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Every training session is designed with purpose, helping players understand not only how to perform a skill, but why it matters within the game.
Greg has led successful programs at both the club and high school levels. In 2019, he guided St. Peter's Prep to the Hudson County Championship and a State Sectional Finals appearance. Following the COVID-interrupted season, he returned in 2021 to lead the program to another Hudson County Championship and the 2021 State Sectional Championship, establishing St. Peter's Prep as one of New Jersey's premier volleyball programs.
As both a player and coach, Greg has competed on the USA Volleyball circuit, participating in national tournaments across the United States as well as international competition in Puerto Rico and Canada. Those experiences continue to influence his modern approach to player development, emphasizing adaptability, high-level decision making, and a deep understanding of the game.
Today, Greg is known for creating demanding yet positive training environments where athletes develop confidence, leadership, resilience, and a genuine passion for volleyball. His goal extends beyond winning matches — he is committed to preparing players for long-term success, whether they aspire to compete at the varsity, club, or collegiate level.
Greg holds USA Volleyball IMPACT and SafeSport certifications and is certified in CPR/AED and Heat Acclimatization.

Edith Gavriel
Edith Gavriel brings more than 25 years of international playing and coaching experience to Next Level Volleyball. Her passion for developing athletes began at an early age and has taken her across three countries, shaping a coaching philosophy that blends European technical training with a modern, athlete-centered approach.
Edith began playing competitive volleyball in Germany at the age of 11 and quickly established herself as one of the top players in her region, earning selection to her state team. By the age of 16, she had already begun coaching younger athletes within her club, discovering a passion for teaching that has remained at the center of her volleyball journey. She continued competing at a high level through the age of 25, winning numerous league championships and tournament titles.
During an exchange year in Montana, Edith earned a starting varsity position and was recognized with multiple Match MVP honors while finishing the season as her team's Best Server. After relocating to Israel, she expanded her game by competing in beach volleyball, gaining valuable experience that further strengthened her understanding of ball control, court awareness, and all-around player development. Upon moving to the United States, she returned to indoor volleyball, continuing to compete while dedicating herself to coaching the next generation of athletes.
Edith believes that exceptional players are built through strong fundamentals, consistent repetition, and a genuine love for the game. Her coaching emphasizes technical excellence, confidence, discipline, and helping athletes understand not just how to perform a skill, but why it matters. Alicia Iafrate
Alicia Iafrate brings a high-level defensive mindset and a passion for developing confident, fundamentally sound athletes. As a former NCAA Division I libero and defensive specialist, she understands the discipline, communication, and consistency required to compete at the highest levels of the game. Her coaching emphasizes technical precision, relentless effort, and creating an environment where every athlete feels supported while being challenged to improve.
Alicia graduated from Rider University, where she competed as a four-year Division I libero/defensive specialist. Prior to her collegiate career, she played five seasons with DIGS Volleyball Club and was a four-year varsity starter at Northern Valley Demarest High School, earning numerous accolades throughout her career, including First Team All-North Jersey, Second Team All-State, First Team All-County, First Team All-League, a New Jersey Player of the Year nomination, and more than 1,000 career assists.
Alicia also serves on the coaching staff at Northern Valley Demarest High School, where she is the Head Junior Varsity Coach after previously serving as an assistant varsity coach during the program's New Jersey Group 2 State Championship season.
Known for her positive energy and attention to detail, Alicia works closely with athletes to develop defensive confidence, ball control, and game awareness while fostering the work ethic and mindset needed for long-term success both on and off the court.
Alicia holds USA Volleyball IMPACT and SafeSport certifications.

Mayank Desai
Mayank Desai is committed to helping athletes build a strong technical foundation while developing the confidence and competitive mindset needed to succeed on the court. His coaching philosophy emphasizes mastering the fundamentals, understanding the game, and creating an environment where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow every day.
A former varsity opposite hitter at Clifton High School, Mayank helped lead his team to a Top 20 ranking in New Jersey during his senior season. His performance and leadership earned him All-League recognition while competing against some of the state's top talent.
Mayank currently serves as the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Academy of the Holy Angels, where he works with student-athletes to develop individual skills, game awareness, and a passion for the sport. His experience at both the high school and club levels allows him to effectively prepare athletes for the next stage of their volleyball journey.
Known for his patient instruction and attention to detail, Mayank focuses on creating a positive, challenging environment where athletes are encouraged to compete, communicate, and continuously improve. His goal is to help every player leave the gym with greater confidence, stronger fundamentals, and a deeper understanding of the game.

James Chan
James Chan is passionate about introducing athletes to the game of volleyball and helping them build the skills and confidence to compete at increasingly higher levels. Known for his patient teaching style and ability to simplify complex skills, James has become a favorite among athletes for creating an encouraging, energetic learning environment where players feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and challenging themselves to improve.
With more than a decade of playing and coaching experience, James understands that every athlete develops at a different pace. His coaching focuses on building strong fundamentals, reinforcing proper technique, and helping players develop the game awareness needed to succeed as they progress through the sport. Many athletes who begin their volleyball journey with James quickly gain the confidence and skill set to advance into more competitive training environments.
James began his coaching career at Stony Brook University, where he served as a teaching assistant and skills coach for the women's volleyball summer clinic under the direction of the university's head coach. He later joined Herald Volleyball Club, taking on leadership roles that included Skills Coach, Practice Coordinator, and Coach Liaison while continuing to mentor athletes of varying experience levels.
At Next Level Volleyball, James is known for creating practices that are engaging, challenging, and fun. His positive approach, clear instruction, and genuine investment in each athlete's success make him an invaluable part of the coaching staff and a trusted mentor for players beginning their volleyball journey.

Jessica Hayes
Jessica Hayes brings six years of coaching experience and a passion for developing athletes through strong technical instruction, structured training, and positive leadership. As the Development Program Lead at Next Level Volleyball, she oversees the club's introductory training pathways, helping athletes establish the skills, confidence, and game understanding needed to progress into competitive club volleyball.
Known for her exceptional organization and ability to effectively manage large groups of athletes, Jess creates engaging, high-energy training environments where every player receives meaningful instruction and individual attention. Her coaching emphasizes proper technique, consistent fundamentals, and building confidence through repetition and purposeful practice.
Jess most recently served as a Head Coach with Pinnacle Volleyball Club. As a player, she competed for 15 years as an opposite hitter and middle blocker, earning a State Championship, two All-Academic honors, and a Catholic High School League Scholar Athlete nomination during her varsity career.
Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jess graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2022 with dual degrees in Biomedical Science and Biochemistry before relocating to New Jersey. Her analytical approach, attention to detail, and passion for teaching have made her an invaluable mentor for athletes at every stage of their volleyball journey.
At Next Level Volleyball, Jess is committed to creating an environment where athletes develop not only technical skills but also confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for the game. Manuel "Manny" Malcampo
Manuel "Manny" Malcampo brings a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of the game, and a special expertise in setter development to Next Level Volleyball. Having played volleyball since 2009, Manny has always been drawn to the leadership, decision-making, and precision required of the setter position. His coaching emphasizes communication, court awareness, and helping athletes understand the game beyond individual skills.
Throughout his playing career, Manny developed into a versatile athlete, gaining valuable experience in both defensive and setting roles. His passion for setting led him to attend specialized camps and advanced training, giving him a unique perspective on one of volleyball's most demanding positions. His commitment to continuous learning continues to shape his coaching philosophy today.
Manny currently serves as an Assistant Coach at Saint Peter's Prep, where he has helped develop one of New Jersey's premier high school volleyball programs. During the 2026 season, he was part of the coaching staff that captured the HCIAL American Division Championship. He also played an instrumental role in mentoring the team's starting setter, who recorded more than 660 assists in his first varsity season, while contributing to the development of multiple All-Hudson County athletes.

Adriel Castor
Adriel Castor brings nearly 20 years of volleyball experience and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of athletes. His coaching philosophy centers on building strong fundamentals, creating a positive learning environment, and helping players develop the confidence needed to grow both on and off the court.
Adriel began playing volleyball at Don Bosco Prep, where he competed for three years before continuing his playing career at Ramapo College. His years as both a player and leader within the volleyball community have given him a deep appreciation for the technical and team-oriented aspects of the game.
In addition to coaching with Next Level Volleyball, Adriel currently serves as a Director for the Bergen Volleyball League, where he continues to support and promote the growth of volleyball throughout the region.

Coach Todd Andreoni brings a lifelong passion for volleyball and a wealth of playing and coaching experience to Next Level Volleyball.
Growing up in San Diego, California, Todd developed his love for the game on the beach volleyball courts, where he built a strong technical foundation and competitive mindset. After relocating to the East Coast, he continued competing at a high level, participating in the GAV Beach Volleyball Tournament Series throughout New Jersey from 2009 to 2012.
Committed to developing the next generation of athletes, Coach Todd has spent the past five summers coaching within the Ridgewood School District, working with middle school, junior varsity, and varsity athletes. He currently serves as the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Ridgewood High School, where he is dedicated to building skilled, confident players while preparing them for success at the varsity level.
Coach Todd has also spent the past two club seasons coaching youth volleyball, specializing in technical skill development, fundamentals, and athlete confidence. His coaching philosophy emphasizes that strong fundamentals, consistent effort, and a positive attitude are the foundation for long-term success both on and off the court.
